2020 UP VSB Distinguished Alumni Awardees

The UP VSB Faculty congratulates the three 2020 Distinguished Alumni Awardees (DAA) – Corazon Nenita C. Pangan, Eugene T. Tan, Stella Marie B. Santos.

Sixteen candidates for the DAA were submitted to the Board of Judges composed of Dr. Lingling Patalinghug (Professor Emeritus), Eduardo Francisco (President, BDO Capital), Estelita Aguirre (Executive Dir, Philippine Institute of Accountants), Joel Tan-Torres (Dean), and Arturo Ilano (College Secretary). The Board of Judges shortlisted eight candidates for UP VSB Faculty’s further deliberation and confirmation.

Congratulations once again! 

Net graduated Magna Cum Laude, BS BAA in 1985, and ranked 5th in the CPA Board Exams.

She co-founded Business Paradigm Inc. in 1991, a management consulting firm which specializes in providing training programs for top companies. Her company has since expanded to: (1) consumer products distribution in Vis-Min in 1995, winning the prestigious Distributor of the Year award in the Diamond category from Nestle as her company was one of its top distributors; (2) healthcare in 2004, setting up the Health Centrum Hospital and establishing several outlets of the Generics Pharmacy in Roxas City; and (3) real estate development in Metro Manila and Western Visayas in 2013 under the B&P Property Group of Companies.

Net’s company established the William A. Bantigue Foundation in 2011 which provides scholarships to college and high school students in Capiz, as well as the Nenita Pangan Scholarship Fund in 2015 which has helped a number of BA and BAA students.


Eugene graduated Summa Cum Laude, BSBAA in 1985. He placed second in his MBA class in Stanford University in 1990.

Eugene is a professional manager and financial advisor in the international business arena. His career history reflects his commitment to excellence as he has led and continues to lead various foreign organizations - Co-CEO of Oriental Patron Asia Limited (2019- Present); Co-CEO of Shanxi Securities International (2017-2019); Institutional and Client Group, Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets of Oppenheimer Investments Asia Limited (2013-2016). His current and past positions and responsibilities attest to his outstanding achievement.


Stella graduated Cum Laude, BS BAA in 1985 and ranked 12th in the CPA Board Exams.

Stella is a managing partner and founding member of Adelfia LLC, a Chicago-based family enterprise that provides assurance, advisory, accounting, tax, information technology review and audit services. It is a fully Filipino- and women-owned public accounting firm -- a first in the state of Illinois.

Stella has been recognized by various Filipino-American groups, including (1) the 2014 Circle of Empowered Women by the National Federation of Filipino American Associations Illinois, (2) the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Council of Philippine American Canadian Accountants, (3)the 2015 Chicago Filipino Asian American Hall of Fame for Excellence in Finance and Accounting, and (4) the 2017 Lester H. McKeever Jr. Outstanding Leader in Advancing Diversity Award by the Illinois CPA Society.
