Roman Honored with Professor Emeritus Award

We are pleased to inform you that during the 1309th meeting held on 22 July 2015, the University of the Philippines Board of Regents approved the appointment of Dr. Emerlinda R. Roman as professor emeritus effective upon her retirement on 1 August 2015. She served as the first woman President of the University of the Philippines from 2005 to 2011. In U.P., a faculty member with a rank of professor may be appointed Professor Emeritus, "if he/she has rendered at least 20 years of active and faithful service to the University and has achieved marked distinction as a productive scholar, artist, or scientist, or is widely acknowledged as an effective and dedicated teacher."
