Update on Alumni Homecoming on December 7 in the UP Promenade

To the members of the VSB Community:

All systems go for our annual alumni homecoming on December 7, 2019 in the UP campus, the Promenade. Despite the inclement weather that we experienced in the past days, AccuWeather’s prediction for December 7 is for “a sunny to partly cloudy and pleasant” with temperature of 31degrees and no rainfall expected. However, just in case there may be some rains, there will be over 40 tents in the UP Promenade.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Holy mass celebration in Room 104 in the VSB at 9AM

Tour of the College from 10AM to 1030 AM Call Marielle (see contact information below) if you want a guided tour

Bus tour of UP Diliman campus from 10AM to 11 AM for Batch 69.

Registration shall be in the Beta Way path with entrance from the AS/Palma Hall Parking area from 10AM to 1PM.

PARKING IS AVAILABLE IN THE AS/PALMA HALL PARKING AREA AND OTHER PLACES.

During registration, please pay your P800 fee. You will get a food stub worth P400 which you can use in any of the food, gift or game booths in the venue. You will also get your copy of the souvenir program. You will have to manually register by signing your name in the appropriate registration list (according to Jubilarian Batch year, VIP guests, VSB Faculty, Other alumni, CPA passers, Event sponsor or assistant, Concessionaire and ROTC group). Once inside the venue, all of the alumni will have to accomplish electronically via online the ALUMNI AND CORPORATE NETWORKING DIRECTORY FORM: by going to the Link: www.tinyurl.com/vsbaluminfo . We need this detailed information from the alumni for the Directory that the VSB will be compiling and printing. Your accomplishment of this form is also the basis for your inclusion in the electronic raffle that will be held during the formal program. YOU CAN ALREADY ACCOMPLISH THIS FORM EVEN BEFORE THE EVENT.

Inside the UP Promenade or Liron Liron Sinta Fair grounds, you can avail of the amenities. All Jubilarian batches will be allotted a designated space with tent, park benches and cocktail table.(tables and chairs for the more senior batches of 1979 and older) Please look for your assigned area All the rest of our guests will also have their designated places. Please refer to the floor plan posted throughout the venue or inquire from the registration personnel where your assigned area is located. Free amenities include haircut or trim in the Reyes Haircutters booth, give aways, including the first issue of the VSB Vantage Point in the VSB booth. There are various stalls selling food, drinks, fruits, etc. There is a booth where you can enjoy Virtual Reality games. You can request for the playing of your favorite music or announcement or dedication for a small fee in the Music and Announcement Booth. You can buy your UP souvenir and VSB commemorative items in the Alma Matters UPAA Souvenir Booth and the VSB booth. Your batch can have your group or individual pictures taken in the Photo booth or by the roving photographers (a small fee will have to be paid). Please visit the sponsors booths (PLDT, Smart) and PayMaya where you can inquire about our commemorative VSB card. While in the fairgrounds, enjoy mingling with your batch mates, fellow VSB alumni, family, friends and guests while enjoying the live drum and bugle band music amidst the trees, flowers, Christmas light and fiesta buntings. If you need further assistance or information, you can go to the VSB booth or look for our roving ushers and assistants.

There is a First Aid booth where you can have your BP taken by an UP Infirmary nurse, Clean portalets for your comfort requirements will be available in the venue

The formal program will start at 12 noon. Our stage for the program is the area with the LED big screen nearest the Promenade marker. Attached is the program. The program will start with the march of the Jubilariian classes consisting of Batch '59 (Diamond), Batch '64 (Emerald) , Batch '69 (Golden), Batch '74 (Sapphire), Batch '79 (Ruby), Batch '84 (Coral), Batch '89 (Pearl), Batch '94 (Silver), Batch '99, Batch '09, Batch '04 and Batch '14. Please gather at the elevated podium area to start the march leading to the designated areas. During the program, I will give for free the special medallions of recognition to Batches 94 (and the older batches). For these batches, be sure to join your batch mates in the homecoming since only those who attend our homecoming will receive these medallions. Other members of the other batches who will not receive the free medallion but wants to order can pay P 400 at the VSB booth. We will also recognize the accomplishment of the VSB Accountancy batch of 2019 which was proclaimed by the Professional Regulatory Board of Accountancy as the only “Top Performing School” in the October 2019 CPA Licensure Examination. The Distinguished Alumni Awardee/s will be announced during the program, Later in the afternoon, we will launch the Alumni and Corporate Networking Directory that will be distributed to the alumni next year. I will share with the VSB community what my “Looking in Reaching out” (“LIRO”) initiatives are all about. I will also launch our revitalized communication platforms, the LIRO Alumni and Supporters program, and the VSB Vantage Point Journal. We will strengthen our bonds and collaboration with our alumni associations (the CBAAA and the MBA Society) with a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation.

Be prepared to be entertained and to have fun during the program. Listen to your batch mates as they compete in the “Mr. & Ms. Biriteoke” contest. Watch our brave alumni test their brains and wit in the “Q & A” competition. The audience will be the judge of the winners of these two contests. We have also invited a popular singer and entertainer to perform during the program. Please stay on for the duration of the program because we will be giving prizes who will be selected in our e-Raffle only to those who are in the venue to accept these prizes

With all these events and more, we will definitely enjoy our grand alumni homecoming with our families, friends and guests whom you can invite to join our “Liron Liron sinta” fiesta homecoming in the UP Promenade on December 7
