UPVSB Summa Cum Laude Accounting Graduate Receives Elijah Watt Sells Award of the AICPA in US

Gerard Don C. Padilla, BS Business Administration and Accountancy summa cum laude graduate in 2014, will receive the prestigious 2015 Elijah Watt Sells Award from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). This award is given to CPA candidates who obtained a cumulative average score of above 95.50 across all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination, passed all four sections of the examination on their first attempt, and completed testing in 2015. Only 75 of 93,742 individuals who sat for the examination in 2015 will receive the award. Padilla has the distinction being among the 19 awardees without a Master’s degree in Accounting. The other 56 awardees either have MS in Accounting, Master of Accounting, Master of Professional Accountancy, or MBA in Accounting, in addition to their bachelor’s degree in accounting. Padilla is currently working for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in San Francisco, California.
